Skin boosters have become hugely popular for people who want healthier, more radiant skin without changing the shape of their face. But with names like Profhilo, Sunekos and polynucleotides, it can be hard to know the difference. Here is a simple guide to the skin boosters we offer at Castle Street.
Unlike dermal fillers, skin boosters do not add volume or change your features. Instead, they improve the quality of your skin itself: its hydration, firmness, texture and glow. They are a lovely option if you feel your skin looks tired, dull or is starting to lose its bounce.
Profhilo is a highly concentrated hyaluronic acid treatment that spreads through the skin after the application process. It deeply hydrates and stimulates your skin to produce more collagen and elastin, improving firmness and early laxity across a broad area.
Sunekos combines hyaluronic acid with amino acids, the building blocks your skin uses to make its own collagen and elastin. It works to regenerate the skin from within, improving hydration, firmness and fine lines.
Polynucleotides use purified DNA fragments to support the skin’s natural repair processes. They are particularly helpful for skin affected by sun damage, scarring or fine lines, and are often used around the eyes.
Every patient’s skin is different, and sometimes a combination works best. At your consultation, we look at your skin, talk about what bothers you and recommend the treatment most likely to give you the result you want.
Most people have some small raised bumps or mild redness for a few hours after treatment, and occasionally a little bruising. Most patients go straight back to their day.
A facial aesthetics consultation costs £50, redeemable against treatment. Call us on 01494 527 971 to book.
